I discovered the Secret of Success...!!!

It was almost 6 hours that I had been travelling. All the window shutters were closed and the passengers were all fast asleep.I was struggling to have a nap but I couldn't. Suddenly I realized that flight was giving slight jerks. I sat erect, saw all around and realized that I am the only one who was awake. Then came the cabin crew announcement to straighten the seats and fasten the seat belts. Everyone woke up and followed the instructions. Jerks intensified, my heart began to throb.Immediately I switched on the screen  in front of me and started to find the location of the flight through GPS system. It was exactly 37,000 feet above the huge Atlantic ocean heading towards ice covered Greenland. By seeing that I was totally gripped by terror. Why did the pilot announce to fasten seat belts? Anything wrong with the machinery? What if the flight crashes? Then there is no way that we could be saved, not even a single airport near by for the emergency landing and probably our flight will be on head lines tomorrow 'Missing Flight no.1234'. All these overwhelmed me. Still the flight wasn't going normal.

I turned around to see my co-passengers.All others are quite normal. But my heart rate and the thoughts rate quadrupled. This went on for about 20 minutes and later flight resumed its normal condition. This 20 minutes was so frightening to me that I almost slipped off into praying all the Gods whom I know. After this so considered life threatening event, I drank a bottle of water, sat stretched and relaxed myself.

Slowly I started reflecting upon what had happened to me a few minutes before. Just because of a few jerks I almost ended up in imagining the worst consequences. As a passenger if I end up in fear and trepidation then what about the captain of the flight? responsible for nearly 250 lives.' I tried to imagine myself taking such a huge responsibility as a pilot. It was horrifying. But if it was horrific to the pilots then will they take up this as a career? If it was horrific to the Wright Brothers could they invent a plane? Boeing, the carrier in which I was travelling was magnificently constructed. It could easily resist the worst climates outside, could carry tons of weight, could travel at a stretch for 15 to 20 hours. A man made wonder. If everyone feared for their life like me, could all this happen? - I asked myself  then came the pronounced reply...'Absolutely No...!!'

This episode has given me the insight into the secret behind success, More than hard work, discipline or dedication, its all COURAGE that gives the power to achieve anything. If a businessman fears of landing up in bankrupt, will he start a company? If an athlete fears of loosing the match, will he/she able to give their best? If scientists fear that they will not succeed, will they invent the life changing applications and technologies? If a person fears of making an accident will he be able to learn driving? To be direct if a Mother fears of loosing her life, will she able to commit herself for child's birth?
No.

Life is more than just living and adding years to your life. Its about making difference, its about spreading happiness, its about impacting lives. Failing in the process of achieving a great thing is a biggest success.Wright brothers might have thought ' if we fail we are the only to die but if we succeed we will give this wonderful gift to the next generation.' Never fear of loosing anything including your life, this feeling of courage itself boosts your confidence and brings out the true you. I tired it.. now its your turn..!!

When can a working woman truly enjoy her life?

No sooner than I started my professional career, I realized the brunt fact that doing a job is all together a different game for boys and that for girls. One day I woke up late in the morning as I was so tired. I went to kitchen and saw my mom almost running from one place to other and juggling between various tasks - cleaning lunch boxes, cutting vegetables, preparing breakfast and lunch. Daily I help her by sharing some or other work. That day I  couldn't  as I was already late. At last she was done with the work but I found her to be totally tired, sweating profusely and from her uneasiness I realized that her neck again started to ache, which is literally intolerable. My mom in her 40’s  wasn't  able to do the daily chores all alone with the same ease that she once used to. My heart sank by that sight. That moment I thought of quitting the job and stay at home to help my mom.  I went to her and asked “Why don’t you ask feroz (my elder b...

Things This Little Book Told Me..!!

O ne day I was curiously looking at all the book titles, row by row at our office library. A large collection of technical tomes always left me diffident. So I went ahead and searched for a book at the general section. With a sky blue jacket, having an image rolled on both sides, with an artistic font of title and a cute cartoon of a bird hanging at the center, a book grabbed my attention. It was written- " Things A Little Bird Told me- confessions of the creative mind."  My connection to the word creative (As I always brag I am !! ) made me to have a glimpse of what the book was all about. Author -  Biz Stone,   Co-founder of Twitter. I never heard about him, appreciated my general knowledge levels and then continued reading the cover page. At the bottom, it was written "A unique gift of perspective to anyone dreaming of taking risks, changing their lives, and changing the world ". Interesting and relative, I thought and borrowed it from our library. Embarked on ...

Not Just For A Girl....!

Absorbed by a thought I was totally oblivious to one and half hour tiring journey in the scorching heat of sun. A thought that was planted by the most effective or to be precise the most intrepid speaker I have ever witnessed. It was not a meeting specially designed for ladies nor was an event on some Women’s day. But Kavya, a scientific writer by profession had delivered in a regular get together a speech on the myths and unhealthy practices of Indian women during the menstrual cycle, addressing a huge crowd in which majority were men. Having men onto my both sides, I felt a pinch of embarrassment on hearing the topic but Kavya’s gentle reminder that the race of humans wouldn’t have existed without this biological process and it was not a taboo subject, immediately comforted me. She presented a statistical report throwing light on the fact that 80% of the Indian women do not use sanitary pads but rather use SAND, ASH, GRASS, NEWSPAPER and RAGS during their menstrual cycle. No ...
